Tigers Vs Red Deer In Round One

Round One opponent decided. The Hitman scored with 5 minutes remaining in their game against Kootenay to win the central division penant.

As a result the Tigers finish 2nd in the division, 3rd overall in the conference, and will faceoff against the Red Deer Rebels in round one.

The Winner of the Tigers Vs Red Deer series will face the Winner of the Calgary Vs Kootenay series.

Tyler Lewington
One game for game misconduct versus Saskatoon on March 21
So the Tigers captain will miss the first game of the series.

So sad about this. Really feel like the tigers gave it away this year. Frustrating. Had so many chances to take it back and just never did.
Oh well, I guess the division title is not everything. Here is hoping we see a long run in playoffs.
Any word if Hunt will be in the line up for playoffs, he was on the wrong end of a nasty hit last night and looked to be in some shoulder trouble

I really really dislike this new format. You feel ripped off for working so hard in the year and not playing the lowest place team that you should. And it sucks that Regina gets to play the actual lowest placed team when they did not even win their conference or division. Not happy with this format. I think they have messed with something that was not a problem.

It is pretty much playoff equalization payments for teams in a weak division. It will generate more playoff revenue with more overall games with seeds closer together playing themselves.

This system gives unequal advantages. I've posted it before but I do not like this system at all. The purpose of the regular season is a series of games to seed teams for the playoffs. 5th vs 8th matchup when you also have 3rd vs 4th.....is basically shitting all over what the point of the regular season is for. (excuse my language, Mods pls post this)

5-6 team division isn't enough. IMO you need at least 8 teams for this to work, and 7 is cutting it close.

I thought Clouston would be the under 18 coach this time being an assistant last time around. I hope Matt (smiling) Bradley is back in the Tigs lineup soon too!!!

Everyone ready to go for game one, except Bradley....He still wearing a no contact jersey...Lew is suspended though...

Really? What is wrong with Bradley? And will it be long? He is a key guy for secondary scoring and has been really good as of late. How long is he expected out of the line up?

if he's skating its a good sign.

So For only the 2nd time all year, the Tigers have a healthy lineup....Pretty good timing.

Lets hope they can all stay healthy through the playoffs.

New tiger in town, caught a glimpse today at the arena. Pretty sure they have called in Hamblin. Interesting to see if he straps on the skates at all for a game or just practices. Pretty sure he, Fantillo and Jevne are near locks for next year

Hope we see a bit of toughness on the team next year. Could have used it tonight.
